Vessel Planner

We are looking for an experienced stowage coordinator, preferable with experience from stowage of containers.

About the role

The primary task is the creation of efficient and timely stowage plans for Unifeeder’s vessels operating in the Americas region as well the European region, by utilizing Seacos stowage programs (MACS 3 / StowMan/NAVIS). The functions involves strict adherens to the IMDG Code and CSM/Stability booklet and focusing on vessel utilisation, crane split, limit restows/siftings and stowage optimisation.

In this position, you will be a part of cross regional (Americas/Euroepan) stowage team with vessel planning colleagues disbursed across multiple locations in Europe. You, will be based in our newly established Americas office in Panama City and part of a team of approximately 10 customers service and operations colleagues.

You will work closely together with Unifeeder’s agents/operations, customer service and capacity management, as well as vessel command, to fulfilling Unifeeder effectuate the most efficient stowage plans. Your role will require excellent organizational skills in order to solve stowage emergency issues AOH and during weekends/holidays according to the schedule. Futhermore, you will be responsible for finding solutions in order to keep smooth operation of the team.

You will be a part of a multi regional stowage team where 4 persons are located in Poland, 2 person in Cyprus, 2 persons in Denmark, the diversercity of locations enables the team to assist each other during peak periods and work across multiple time zones. The team is characterized by an informal and direct tone in a dynamic environment, where deadlines and sailing plans mean that things sometimes move fast. A structured approach across national borders, colleagues, terminals, and ships helps to ensure high quality.

Requirements

• University degree in Maritime Transport
• A Chief Officer license and relevant experience on container vessels as at least 2nd Officer
• Profound understanding of shipping industry,
• Advanced English level
• Advaced level in the use of Seacos stowage programs (MACS 3 / StowMan/NAVIS)
• Advaced knowledge in IMDG Code and CSM/Stability booklet; focusing on vessel utilisation, crane split, limit restows/siftings and stowage optimisation.
• Availability during weekednds, holidays or peak periods in case of emergencies (according to a previous schedule)
• Experience with multicultural teams is a plus
